What is Kiteboarding?

How to Do Kiteboarding?

Kitesurfing; It is a sport based on balancing on the surfboard by using the power of the wind with kite equipment, the basic operation of which is the same as paragliding. Kitesurfing, which has private schools and courses where you can get professional training, is a sport that can be learned quickly and suitable for amateurs.

Kitesurfing (Kiteboarding) is a sport that has the risk of injury, as in every extreme sport, and therefore it is important to take safety precautions. Kitesurfing (Kiteboarding) is not a sport that can be done alone without adequate training, and it should not be done without a supervisor even after the basic training is completed. Although there is less risk of injury when compared to other extreme sports, kitesurfing should also be done with full supervision.

What are Kiteboarding Materials?

If you want to discover kitesurfing, which promises both fun and excitement, you can take a look at the basic material list we have prepared.

Kite (Uçurtma)

The most important and necessary material among the kiteboard materials is the kite. Kites, the size of which is determined by the wind strength, also differs according to the style that the user adopts or is used to. During the training phase, your instructor will choose the kite suitable for your height and weight. Afterwards, those who have mastered can choose their kites according to their height-weight ratio and style.

Kitesurf Board - Kiteboard

The kitesurf board, which is the backbone of the kiteboard equipment and the basis of the gliding action, is produced in many lengths and widths. Bidirectional and wide skis are recommended for beginners, while thin and small-volume boards are recommended for speed-loving professionals.

Harness (Trapez)

The harness, which is used to balance the weight of the kite and is tied to the waist, is the most important support of the kitesurfer.

Kiteboarding (Kitesurf) Suits

There is no clothing specially produced for kitesurfing. Depending on the water and air temperature, wetsuits, which are the surfing versions of diving suits, are used. In addition, t-shirts-shorts that can be worn in the water and glasses produced to reduce the effect of the wind are also offered to those who prefer it.

When to do Kiteboarding (Kitesurf)?

For kitesurfing, which is mostly a water sport, a constant wind of 12-20 knots is required, regardless of its route. Although the summer months are mostly preferred for kitesurfing, any period when wind conditions are suitable is suitable for this sport. In addition to summer and spring months, kitesurfing is a sport that can be done on snow in winter.
